What was once destined to be filled with concrete and consigned to history, the 130 year old Victorian swimming bath complex beneath the seafront promenade in Hastings has been saved by Source BMX – and is now what is being called the world’s largest underground skate park!
The Source Park will open its doors to skaters and BMX riders for the first time TODAY (Saturday 13th Feb) after a £1.17 million overhaul of the 19th century White Rock Baths was given the go ahead by Hastings Borough Council in June 2014.
The designs for the park were drawn up by Worthing-based Saville Jones and construction work began in March
Funding for this project has come from a a variety of generous donors including Hastings Borough Council, East Sussex County Council, the Foreshore Trust, the national Coastal Communities Fund and The Source Hastings.

“I think one effect of skateboarding being so big now, that all of a sudden the women have become more interesting than the men. Because they haven’t been exposed as much.”
To signing for Nike SB….
“I’m really stoked to be on Nike SB, I literally just signed the contract yesterday! It’s a new energy and inspiration to keep on doing what I’ve been doing but even more. It opens up an area of time I don’t have to take an extra job alongside my studies.”
