FELLOWSHIP: A Female Skate Photography Exhibition

We have been working on this little project ALL summer and are stoked to finally announce the launch party of FELLOWSHIP; a photography exhibition highlighting the togetherness and community spirit of Skateboarding, captured through the lenses of some pretty inspiring girls.

We gathered up a few of our favourite female skate photographers, as well as a couple of new names on the photography scene… Exhibitors include Louisa Menke, Jenna Selby, Maria Barton, Raisa Abal, Mar Simo, Sophie Allen, Eloise Dorr, Tracy Gray, Charlotte Thomas and Marie Dabbadie!

The exhibition launch will be at the Official Unicorn Jam After Party – straight after the 4th edition of the Mile End Unicorn Skate Jam so meet us at 6pm at Parlour Presents on Hackney Road in Shoreditch on Saturday July 16th, or if you’re at the jam there will be a bunch of us heading up that way so tag along!

If the exhibition and general post jam hype isn’t enough of a reason to get you to come along, then please note that there will be FREE BEER all night, provided by the guys at Frontier! And if you just can’t make the date at all, fear not – the exhibition will run for an entire week after the jam, up until July 23rd.

Keep an eye out for an introduction from the artists next week, but in the meantime, head along to our Facebook event page to stay in the loop!

SEE YOU THERE!

UNICORN SKATE JAM IS BACK JULY 16TH!

unicornjam

The Unicorn Skate Jam has certainly made a name for itself over the past 4  years. Started back in 2012 by Zofia Plonczak and Gabriela St from Poland, the girls pulled together their background expertise to throw their first event in London and have been back to ye olde stomping ground of Mile End each summer since! Check out previous years photos here and here!

No detail is spared with these two, right down to a gourmet BBQ and a single rose for every competitor, its a really nice atmosphere that you should all come along to on JULY 16TH!

This year’s comp will run in three categories:

– Sponsored
– Advanced
– Beginners

Prizes will also go to the winners of GIRLS BEST TRICK and BOYS BEST TRICK and of course to the SKATER OF THE DAY for the rider who puts the most effort in.

As every year the comp will be accompanied by some tasty food & great music throughout the day to keep you going.

From Mile End, we’ll move on to Parlour Presents on Hackney Road to the official event afterparty where we’ll be launching a week-long exhibition curated by us here at Girl Skate UK – Photographers include Maria Barton, Jenna Selby, Louisa Menke, Marie Dabbadie, Charlotte Thomas and more! More info on that this weekend…

SO, save the date, invite your mates, book your travel tickets, sort out your accommodation or just shred down to Mile End and join us for the hottest day of this summer!

Keep up to date over on the facebook event page! 🙂

SEE YOU GUYS & GALS THERE!  X
