‘DAYS LIKE THESE’ PROMO:
THE GROUNDBREAKING NEW EUROPEAN FEMALE SKATE FILM SET TO DROP WINTER 2015
“Whilst models strut the catwalk with decks under arm and ‘skate style’ graces the pages of fashion magazines, videographer, Jenna Selby has been out capturing what female skateboarding in the UK is really about. Since she released the first-ever female European skate film in 2009, the quality of girls skateboarding has gone up another level. With her new film, ‘Days Like These’, coming winter 2015, she is ready to show what it really means to be a girl who skates…”
It’s hip to be square as Thrashion Recycled Skateboard Jewellery ® release their new Autumn Winter Jewellery collection.
The ‘Rhombus’ Collection is inspired by the simple shapes and lines made by a skater when interacting with a geometric location. The title Rhombus, which comes from the Latin ‘rhombos’ means an item able to spin around or revolve, which Thrashion has defined in its practice of recycling skateboards for over 7 years.
Thrashion, who create jewellery from broken skateboards, have won awards for their innovation in crafts and design, including recognition from the Arts and Design Council, Ingenious Britain and Theo Paphitis of Dragons Den’s Small Business Sunday awards.
Designer and maker Nat from Thrashion said ‘I have been quite adventurous with my designs over the last couple of years and wanted to bring it back to basics using cubes, stripes and squares. I have also added three different lines into the collection which have different price points, so there is something affordable for every budget’.
Thrashion also collaborated with students Megan Hemsworth and Jonathan Wilson from Falmouth University to advertise the collection, which included a documentary style short film and high end fashion photographs of the collection.
The Rhombus Collection launches on 27th April 2015 and can be purchased on the website.
Don’t forget that you can donate your old broken deck to Thrashion via their Freepost address FREEPOST THRASHION LTD, all donations receive a free custom order as a thank you.
Please see their donate section on their website for more information.

“For the most part, skateboarding is a male-dominated activity. That’s not to say that there aren’t plenty of girls out there who rip just as hard as the guys. It’s just that the scrapes, bruises, and dirt that come along with it typically don’t appeal to the average female. But Leticia Bufoni (@leticiabufoni) is slowly but surely changing that stereotype.
Everyone has a story. Everyone comes from somewhere. Never forget where you’re from and always know where you’re going.”
