Aberdeen Snowsports Centre and Transition Extreme are joining forces to present the Girls’ Action Sports Weekend, which starts this afternoon!
Aimed specifically at women of all abilities aged 8 and above! The events aim to get as many girls as possible involved in the amazing sports that Aberdeen has to offer, including snowboarding, skiing, skateboarding and bmx.
The activities at Aberdeen Snowsports Centre TODAY (Saturday 18th) will run as follows and cost just £2…
4:30 – 5pm: Taster sessions for beginners in skiing or snowboarding from 4.30-5pm.
4 – 6pm: At the same time there’ll be a girls only airbag session on the dendix slope (you need to be confident at skiing and snowboarding on the drymat).
4 – 7pm: – There’ll also be an informally coached jam session on the main slopes, no boys allowed from 5pm.
(You need to be able to ski or snowboard already for this one but as long as you can control your speed, turn and use the lift you’re all good)
Don’t miss the ladies only session tomorrow on Sunday 19th, the coaches at Transition Extreme will be running sessions in skateboarding and BMXing. Cost is just £5 including equipment.
There will also be Yoga sessions going on to ease those aching muscles!
From 4 – 5pm and 6 – 7pm there will be coached skate and BMX sessions for beginners – even if you’ve never stepped on a board you can go and get involved.
At the same time 4-8pm there will be an informally coached skate/bmx jam session with coaches on hand and other girls to have a shred with. Again this will be Girls Only.
