MEET AND GREET
We’re stoked to be able to announce there will be a very special meet and greet with Margie Didal and the rest of the New Balance team – so don’t forget to bring your sharpies to get your shoes signed! 😆
We will also have a little photo booth area set up where you can snap some selfies with Margie and the team!
SKATE MEDIA WORKSHOPS
We are SO proud to see how the number of women and girls in skateboarding has grown, but the number of women in the skate media industry is still seriously lacking.
With that in mind, we’ve organised some female-focused skate media workshops to help develop your skills and open doors within our industry.
It’s time to carve space for our community within the skate media landscape!
Fancy yourself as a filmer?
Learn how to film skateboarding like the pros! We’ll have Ryan Gray of ‘The Skateboarders Companion’ running a 1 hour filming workshop where he’ll share how to get the best angles and how to put together a banging edit.
Photography more your thing?
Skate photographer Graham Tait of North Skate Mag will be running a 1 hour photography workshop where you’ll learn everything you need to know about getting a magazine-worthy skate shot. He’ll be sharing his knowledge on angles, timings and what camera settings works best for the perfect skate photo.
SKATEBOARD TASTER SESSIONS
Our sister skater school ‘The Skate Retreat’ will be there to offer free skateboarding lessons. There will be 2 x 30 min group sessions starting at 2pm, these will be suitable for complete beginners. Skateboards and safety equipment are available to hire from the park.
PIZZA AND REFRESHMENTS
It wouldn’t be a GSUK jam without pizza, right!? Be sure to register your free attendance below so that you don’t go hungry!
BAKE SALE
Bring your pocket money for some sweet treats from our Bake Sale, we’ll have cookies, brownies and cupcakes with any profits raised going straight to our community fund.
Please note that whilst we welcome all ages and genders to our skate jam, workshop spaces and lessons s are reserved for women, trans and NB skaters over 16yrs of age.
Workshops will run from 2pm to 3pm and must be booked in advance, with prompt arrival to make the most of your time.
