We hope everybody has had a relaxing day so far! We’ve been working hard behind the scenes on a little Christmas surprise, our way of saying THANKS to all of the love and support over this toughest of years.
We are stoked to announce the launch of The Girl Skate UK Community Fund! A project aimed at supporting skateboarders to help grow their local scenes, by offering small grants of up to £200 which they can use for projects that will further benefit, support and engage their communities.
Grass roots projects have always been at the core of Girl Skate UK, and we think more can be done to support those people who are trying to make a difference in their skate communities.
We don’t receive funding ourselves, and everything we make from our merchandise sales goes straight back into the running of Girl Skate UK. Whilst we might not have loads of money, we are lucky enough to have an incredibly loyal community, with a super engaged platform that we love to use to find new ways of giving back and inspiring collective action.
The first round of applications open on January 1st, we have £600 to distribute to successful projects. You can read more about our project – and how you can get involved, here.
